So thrilled to be taking part in the annual PICES Pop Up Art show at the Ramada Resort on Phillip Island in January.
These images are a marked difference to anything I’ve ever displayed, shared or exhibited before due to their more artistic and abstract nature.
It is though a project that I’ve had on my mind for quite a number of years with one of the images taken way back in 2018!
My artist statement which gives insight to my vision and inspiration is as follows:
As a photographer who is inspired by all things nature, wildlife and culture I am continuously spellbound by the sheer beauty and diversity of our wonderful world.
The stunning beaches that line the southern shores of Phillip Island have been my muse for this series of images.
On any given day after the waves of the ocean have pounded our shores the tide pulls back out drawing patterns in the sand as it goes.
The beauty of these often intricate and always unique patterns is the motivation for this series of Limited Edition prints. By capturing these in black and white we’re able to focus in on and draw out the interplay of light contrasted across the sand patterns, which then ignite ideas of other familiar likenesses in the imagination.
The main 6 images included in the exhibition as Limited Edition (10 prints only) framed prints are below:

In addition to these i had a selection of smaller prints on display in a folio which were also available for sale. Here’s a selection of just a few.
