PICES Pop Up Summer Exhibitions (January 2025)
So excited to have again been chosen to take part in the annual PICES Pop Up Summer Exhibition.
This year i furthered my foray into the whole intentional camera movement (ICM) works to bring together a beautiful series of black and white sunset seascapes.
My artist statement for the series of works: Island Sunsets: Motion, Reduced to Essence
As a photographer who is inspired by nature, wildlife and culture I am continuously spellbound by the sheer beauty and diversity of our wonderful world. More recently, I’ve enjoyed experimenting and creating outside the usual photographic boundaries.
The waves of the ocean are truly an awe-inspiring natural phenomena. Whilst the continual motion, from gentle rolls to powerful crashing, conjure the usual learned images in our minds this series of Limited Edition photographs seeks to explore the shapes and lines in a more graphic representation.
Stripping out the distraction of colour allows us to focus on form. Their impressionistic style was created by using Intentional Camera Movement techniques combined with very slow shutter speeds to emphasise movement, create blur and transform what may be considered ordinary, more towards the abstract extrordinary.
All images are 100% photographic and were produced in-camera from a single exposure, with no content digitally created or removed.
These stunning limited edition prints are available in the gallery and each would make incredible graphic statement pieces printed large in any home.
